What is Advanced Foot Care?

Advanced Foot Care is provided by a nurse who has completed additional education with an in-depth focus on assessment of the foot and lower limb, as well as prevention and education for the client with diabetes to assist in preventing diabetic foot complications. A foot care nurse has also learned about sterilization and infection control procedures used in reprocessing instruments. If you have trouble seeing or reaching your feet, or have any nail or foot conditions, you would likely benefit from a visit with a foot care nurse.

Compression Garments

In addition, A Step Above Foot Care offers a large selection of compression garments to suit your need. We work with your prescription or indication, and take all the measurements to fit the right product for you. We carry Sigvaris and ACHI brands to ensure we cover all the bases in terms of comfort, style and level of compression. Benefits of compression include improving athletic recovery, prevention of swelling, management of chronic venous disease, and improving wound healing. Compression is also great for travel, pregnancy, and prolonged standing.

We Come to You

Your foot care nurse will arrive at your home with nearly everything needed to provide care. We bring all supplies and instruments, a stool for the nurse, a leg rest and even a work surface!

What we ask from you

You just need a comfortable chair for yourself during the visit, a well lit room and access to an electrical outlet. No need to try to cut your toenails, leave that to us and we promise no judgment! We do ask that polish is removed, as it can damage the instruments; the nurse can remove polish for a small fee.

Safety

To ensure safety of the nurse, please clear any obstacles on the path to your door, and allow for adequate lighting during evening visits. We love pets, but they can be tripping hazards for the nurse, and can sometimes make it difficult to provide clean, safe care, so we ask that pets be kept at a distance during care. If you smoke in your home, please refrain from smoking in your home a minimum of 2 hours prior to your appointment time.

Cancellation Policy

At A Step Above Foot Care, we understand that things come up and even though you're so excited to see us, you may need to cancel or reschedule. That's okay! We just ask that you keep a few things in mind if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Please let us know as soon as you can that you aren't able to keep your appointment. Any cancellations/reschedules less than 36 hours before appointment may be subject to a $40 cancellation fee*.
No Shows: when we come to your home for an appointment (or set aside time in a clinic for you), we’re very eager to see you and have prepared our day around the visit, so if you aren't there, that makes it especially hard to provide foot care, which makes us sad. No shows, or cancellations within an hour of appointment time are subject to the full service fee of appointment.
Cancellation and No Show fees are payable within 30 days, or before rebooking another appointment for service, whichever comes first.
*If you are feeling unwell please discuss the issue with us and cancellation fees may be waived at the discretion of A Step Above Foot Care.
Rescheduling or cancellation of appointments greater than 36 hours away can be done without penalty.
Continued short-notice cancellations and no-shows may result in discontinuation of services.
